"A very nice lodge with good views. Wilem (manager) was very helpful and accomodating even going to get us a BBQ to use and cushions for the sunbeds. The bed in the bedroom was confortable but the pullout bed made my sons back ache due to the hinge in the middle. The bathroom was clean with modern fitting and the shower large and powerful. The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need to eat in.
Avalon is a little way out of Kerikeri so I would say a car is useful unless you like walking." Neil, 1 March 2009

Directions

Driving directions from Auckland:
Take the State Highway 1 North until Pakaraka, take State Highway 10 here towards Kerikeri and Doubtless Bay.
At the Kerikeri roundabout, turn right into Kerikeri, you are already on Kerikeri road; keep following for about 2.6 km. Our entrance is after 60 metres past the 50 km sign. Turn left straight after our big sign 'Avalon Resort". Please follow our signs to the office for check in.

Overview

Avalon Resort offers luxury spacious and serviced self-contained one bedroom cottages and studio units in a tranquil and unique setting. Suitable for tourists, business and corporate travellers, couples and families.
A convenient location close to boutique shopping, restaurants, attractions and Bay of Islands airport. Brand new from July 2010 is a spectacular palm landscaped natural swimming pool area and you can relax and sweat it out in our new sauna room beside the pool area.

Luxury Self Contained Cottages:
Each cottage has a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, dining and lounge area. The cottages can sleep up to 4 guests with the bedroom containing a king sized bed and 2 comfortable single sofa beds in the lounge. Each cottage has it's own deck for outdoor dining and dedicated parking.

Studio Units:
We have just built new modern and stylish units (available from July 2010), they all have their own en-suite and kitchenette. You can choose between a queen size bed or twin singles
