Directions

Turn off State Highway 3 ten minutes north of Wanganui at Kai Iwi. Rangitatau East Road turns inland and Bushy Park is 8 km along the road on the left. There is a prominent brown Transit sign on the main highway. We are approximately ten minutes from the highway and twenty minutes from Wanganui.

Overview

Wonderful rooms in an historic century-old homestead with views over the countryside. Fully licensed cafe open 7 days with alfresco style dining. Enjoy breakfast on the magnificent verandah. Evening meals by prior arrangement.

Bunkhouse accommodation also available - self contained with guests supplying their own linens. These may be hired if required.

The sanctuary is set in an original lowland rainforest with wonderful forest tracks. The chance to see many endangered birds including saddleback, north island robin, tui, bellbird, falcon and wood pigeon.
