When approaching from the north from Wanaka follow highway 6 or Tarras follow highway 8. Cromwell is situated at the South end of Lake Dunstan on highway 8B this short stretch of highway connects Highways 8 and 6. Queenstown is the nearest International airport. Rental cars are available from that site and the drive is approximately 40 minutes to Cromwell via Highway 6. This is a scenic drive through the Kawarau Gorge. From the Dunedin area follow Highway 8 to Alexandra and onto Cromwell. Overview
