"Sky TV would have been nice and flies were a problem, otherwise great." Anonymous, 16 February 2011
Jack & Di's Waiteti Lakefront Motel Response: Hi there, thank you for choosing to stay with us at Waiteti Lakefront Motel and we are very pleased you had a great time. With being so close to the lake (a hop, skip and a jump) we have trout flies over the summer months. Harmless little insects that like moths come out at night due to being attracted to bright lights. We try to inform all our guests to ensure all doors and windows are locked and to use the air-conditioning. Once again thank you and we hope to see you again soon, from the team at Jack & Di's.
"Friendly hosts only complaint was the shower was weak otherwise great place to stay." Renae Crofts-Siaosi, 27 March 2010
Jack & Di's Waiteti Lakefront Motel Response: Thank you for staying with us and we are pleased you enjoyed your time with us. When we have a full motel the showers can be a little weak due to water pressure. Thanks again!
"A clean and tidy unit, a nice and quiet location, very friendly staff." Nick Bruin, 27 October 2009
"We arrived at 7pm and had been in communication to let them know our ETA. We rang them on arrival and was met after a wait of 10 minutes or so. We were given the key to our room and left to our own devices. No welcome, no run through of what is where - e.g. location of barbeque, spa, laundry etc. and how to operate any of the equipment - e.g. dial 1 to get a line out for the phone. We could not locate instructions in the unit for any of these either. We had to ask what the checkout procedure was and there was no parting greetings either (e.g. enjoy your stay). There was certainly no one on hand (even the next morning) to help us plan our day. So the claim of "Whatever you would like to do we can help you plan it....just ask" is totally inaccurate. We booked for 2 and had in the end, there were 3 people in our group. We communicated this to them before arriving and if we had not reminded the person who came to give us the key, we would have got away without paying extra. (The staff were not "switched on."). We wanted to have a barbeque and it was getting dark. We could not get the sensor light or the lamps around the barbeque to work. We had to cook in the dark and eat in the unit. The barbeque was not very clean. We booked the 1-bedroom unit. There was no socket for the hairdryer in the bathroom and we could not find the remote for the air-conditioner. The tour desk consisted of a display shelf with brochures in it. To say there is wi-fi Internet access is misleading too. Access means one can get on the Internet - this was not the case. To get on the Internet, one had to pay extra. From the rooms listed, we had the impression that there were only 3 units. There was more than double this number - not as cosy as we thought it would be. If you're after a place to sleep at night (in a comfortable bed), then this is adequate. If you want a bit of guidance on things to do in the area and who provides a better deal for the various attractions (e.g. who has the most authentic hangi), you won't get it here. You'll need to sort it out yourself." Anonymous, 13 March 2009
Jack & Di's Waiteti Lakefront Motel Response: Hi there, we are really sorry about your experience during your stay with us at Waiteti Lakefront Motel. The manager at the time was not up with the play and for that we apologise. The manager no longer works for us. We have put in place new procedures and training for all our staff and we are sure that if you stayed again with us your experience would match your expectations. We have recently refurbished our rooms and we are fully aware of what to do and what is happening in and around our beautiful city Rotorua.
