"This accommodation is a building site. It'll be great when it's finished but in its unfinished state should not be offered as accommodation. When completed it will be first class. Food was excellent but was served in our room where no dining facilities were available. Wine was delayed while it was chilled! Poor service for a licensed venue. Romantic Getaways at Manor Views Response: We do remember the couple, and as far as we were aware, they were rapt with their room and their stay. We do thank them for their comments on the food, and obviously consider the work that we have done to be first class. If we had of known about their complaints at the time of their stay, we could have done something about it at the time. We are disappointed in this review, especially when people do not voice it to us at the time, and in this case, their main complaints seem to come from their own choices made on the night. The area of the building that is completed is a 4.5* qualmark rating, which is impossible to get if it's not up to standard. They chose our cheapest room, being tea & coffee making only. The room in itself is completely finished. As we are doing up an historic building, many of our guests like to see what we are doing, so we showed them through the unfinished part of the building, which is not open for guests to stay yet. They chose NOT to accept exclusive use of our elegantly furnished formal dining room, which was offered to them because our other guests were dining in the conservatory, but opted instead to eat in their suite. At the time of making that choice, they had already seen their room, but still opted to have dinner there, fully knowing it was a tea & coffee room only, and they could see that it had a coffee table but not a dining table. As we are a B&B and have no restaurant, we usually require advance notice of meals and selections, so that we have what is required in stock. We bent over backwards on a busy night to serve them dinner at last minute notice. They did not wish to try our wine that was chilled, but chose instead to wait for another bottle of their choice to be chilled, which was still chilled well before their meal was ready. As for the signage, the Romantic Getaways big yellow sign is 1.2metres wide which hangs directly below the sign for our main business. Their suite had a Super King four-foster bed, big-screen TV, views over 2 lakes and a river, their own private deck, beautiful sunsets, total tranquility, all for only $110 including breakfast - what more can we do? Because of the luxury and elegance of the completed part of our building, some people assume that we are a hotel, but we are actually a B&B, not a hotel.
