"Pretty average to be honest although I do like the hotel. The place seemed deserted of customers and staff even though I was told it was full. My early wakeup call request did not eventuate. One of the city’s most charming HERITAGE buildings has been transformed into a HOTEL with an ambiance which envelopes you the moment you enter its doors.
Located within the Central Business District, and near to Parliament and the Lambton Quay shopping area of Wellington, the Wellesley Boutique Hotel features old-worlde charm in a convenient location. Guest rooms are spacious, inviting and individually decorated to match the style of the period.
The Wellesley Boutique Hotel building when constructed in 1925 – 26, was the pre-eminent building in the Georgian style in Wellington, a major work of the architect, William Gray Young. It was awarded an Institute of Architects Gold Medal in 1932.
