"Great 4 night stay. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and waterfront. The staff upgraded our rooms - thank you!" Diane Turner, 13 June 2011
"Requested queen bed + 2 singles - 3 singles provided. Not advised parking costs $18 overnite" Anonymous, 11 October 2010
"Lacked basic amenities and poorly presented rooms i.e. cutlery at the bottom of the cupboard next to the plumbing! Did have an iron but no ironing board!!" Robert Bull, 23 August 2010
"Was a place to put our heads for the night, so we didn't need anything flash. However, we booked a queen size bed and single bed, this was changed to 3 singles. The TV made a noise like a bird twittering; the shower almost overflowed because the drain was blocked; there was a smell of smoke in the bedding and the jug lid was broken. The beds were comfortable and the staff were very accommodating when it came to storing our luggage when we booked out." Jan, 24 May 2010
"Warm room even for Wellington - very good in winter. Quite a bit of traffic noise when window was open, and parking very tight in the parking garage. However, room and bed were comfortable and staff helpful." Bev Lightfoot, 29 November 2009
"For the price it was average. Didn't respond to our query about parking. Couldn't check in at 1400hrs as rooms hadn't been cleaned yet. Reception staff were a little hard to communicate with." Anonymous, 25 February 2009
"Room was great." Leo and Rosemary Hulme, 10 December 2008
"Good central location, helpful friendly staff, clean comforatable spacious room." Louise Duncan, 30 November 2008
"Clean comfortable rooms at reasonable prices. Good breakfast. Unfortunately the bistro was closed when we arrived (8.30 pm) even though it was advertised as open until 9.30pm. Room service was available." Anonymous, 19 July 2008
"This hotel is located conveniently in the centre of Wellington. I payed $85 for one double room which was a special price I found on the net at a time where there was not much on Wellington. The lobby presented itself as very upmarket, which wasn't reflected by the rooms. Everything was OK, basic things were provided tea/coffee and milk, shampoo and towels, and everything appeared clean. I found the reception average, not looking guests in the eye when they pay or check in and out is cold and unwelcoming. Despite $85 being a special price, I would not have wanted to pay more." "First of all, the staff gave us really difficult directions for the car park which was actually quite a simple find. May have been due to a lack of the English language. Secondly the room was filthy. The bins were not emptied and had an orange peel in one. The windows and mirrors were filthy. Looked like someone had shaved and it was covered in hair. I think a five is pretty modest. Handy location thats about it." Sandy Pease, 12 June 2008
"Pretty average as I had to pay extra for parking and the internet. I dont think that is on these days." Anonymous, 14 May 2008
