"It was very noisy from the traffic. They need double glazing on the windows and blackout curtains. The spa bath didn't work. There was no soap. Also it was very expensive for what it was." Nathan Lough, 30 November 2011

Airways Motel Response: Many thanks for the review. We are located on the north/south bypass so that explains the traffic. There is soap in every unit located on the basin in the bathrooms.
Spa bath operates fine when the button located on the side of the bath is pushed.


"This is your average kiwi motel accommodation. Not many frills and bathroom a bit worn. However what you do get with the kiwi motel room is a kitchenette so ordering in is easy and you can even eat off a plate and make yourself a cup of tea. Its a bit noisy being close to a main road but the staff were good at picking us up and getting us back to the airport on time." Jenny Hill, 28 September 2011

As for average Kiwi Motel , Airways provides free 24hour airport pickup and drop off , free high speed WiFi Internet and free drinks to guests on arrival , As our guests have mentioned to us that's these offerings are a thing of the past that no other place does these days .We are proud to be offering a unique service that puts us well above average But thanks anyway for your review.

"The guy who picked us up from the airport at 1 am was very cheerful. very nice. The room for the price we paid at the time of the year wsn't too badly equipped either. The only downside was maybe the service in the morning. The lady just seemed a little less cheerful but she might have just been having a bad day. Overall, good price, decent service, wouldnt mind staying there again, if the only thing you're looking for is a room." Lance Heathcote, 14 February 2011

"The six of us stayed in unit 20 for the night. The place was comfortable but the presentation is rather tired with a poor approach from the car park, worn carpet and poor paint work etc. We used one of the folding beds; the first one we opened up was unsleepable due to missing springs but the second one was OK. Airways Motel Response: Thank you for the review. The painting of the outside of the motel has just been completed and the painters are currently working on the interior of the units in the main complex.
Unfortunately it is a long process with 19 rooms and the carpet cannot be laid until the painting is completed.
We ask our guests (as per our compendiums in the rooms) if they are not happy with a unit please advise us so we can either move them to another unit or assist in some other way.
We are unaware of any fold down beds with missing springs, and again advise guests to please phone reception if not happy.


"Got told off for making noise bringing bags downstairs in morning. It was early but had 3 suitcase, car seat and stroller to try to get downstairs, with a toddler. Maybe they could put people flying out early on the bottom floor! Other than that, nice room. Small, clean tidy. New reception guy at night was very nice, although ordered wake up call that I didnt get. Luckily someone had left alarm clock set for early." Carol Chin Poy, 12 August 2009

"I was there for one night only. The motel was easy to find and accessable. The room was clean and pleasant. Although my room was one away from a busy main road, it was surprisingly quiet. Airways Motel Response: Thank you for the review. Just a wee update - We are in the process - of finishing painting rooms and sprucing things up - and of course the warmer weather is a help with these things! Hope on their return the motel appears a bit brighter for our guests!
