"This was a very unpleasant and unwelcoming stay. I do not recommend accommodation at this hotel. I brought an international guest and was quite embarrassed. We could not wait to leave. The place stunk, the reception was unpleasant and we did not feel welcomed. The rooms were very basic. "The location should be noted 'on 2 very busy streets' as the noice level is bad when trying to sleep at night. Thankfully we had a fan to keep on to try to block some of the noise. Also, the refrigerator was sooo loud, we had to unplug it; and the items we put in the refrigerator, therefore, spoiled...not good as we expected to take them on our continuing travels!!!!! Cleanliness of our room was fine. The 'updates' were 'cosmetic' only (i.e. the bathroom). The staff were fine...not friendly, but not rude...but not readily available as they had to help with cleaning the rooms. The 'free internet' would have been wonderful, but it didn't work. I could get on internet for about 1 minute, then it would shut down. I feel the 'amenities' of the hotel were grosely overstated...our room definitely wasn't 'updated', the hotel definitely wasn't quiet, and definitely no free internet. "I would recommend the Auckland Airport Pacific Inn to anyone, it was great service - I waited no longer than 2 minutes after phoning to be picked up once I arrived at the airport, I was shown to my room within moments of arriving with a smiley face, my bed was comfortable and the room was nice. "Excellent - large room - free secure parking while in Australia - shuttle service too and from airport. Would have rated this 10 if not for over hour wait for shuttle on return to Auckland. Explanation that shuttle had been waiting at domestic terminal when I had rung twice and had confirmed pick up door number at international terminal did not ring true. "I was very disappointed with the service and accommodation. When I arrived at Auckland airport I requested a pick up with a child car seat, I was greeted by a unfriendly driver who could not be bothered to help buckle the car seat into place and was very rude to me when I repeatedly asked for help, finally I managed to get the car seat buckled safely and again the driver was rude regarding how long it took.
The room was nice but it had no proper heating the lights all blew up, the only light I had that went was from a side table, there was no phone number to ring reception. Breakfast was late and again the driver couldn't be bothered with the car seat, so I sat my son on my lap going to the airport the next day. Thanks to a cold and bad nights sleep, the next day on the plane my son screamed the whole way to Nuie, 4hrs of stress!" Katie Kelsall, 25 May 2010

"There was a serious miscommunication with regard to the picking up at the airport. Which made this even more difficult was the serious commumication barrier as you can hardly hear what the gentleman had to say. "The room was good, but I had to go next door to the other motel to get something to eat and drink, it was about 8.00pm, because the restaurant/bar was closed. Also, I suggest you give your customers a receipt when they pay (whether they ask for one or not). "I rated as a 3 because I believe the service at reception was terrible. The man who picked us up was rude and unhelpful and when I asked questions about the place he got annoyed. He did not show us where our room was and didn't help us with our bags. We had no information of what time checkout was etc. We left our duty freebags there and asked him to drop it off at the airport which was only 3 mins away and he charged us $10. "The room was in a VERY shabby condition, so much so that it was not clear if the room was clean or not. The TV and heater needed fixing before it could be used and the staff member helped very reluctantly. The toilet made a loud noise for at least 10 minutes after use. Transport was provided to the airport, with an extremely rude (called me a 'cripple' to the other guests in the van) and unhelpful person doing the transporting. All in all, a very unpleasant experience. If you had a zero rating, that is what they deserve. I would never recommend this motel to anyone." Dawn Austen, 26 April 2009

Just want to apologize for the service provided on 22/4/09 for guest by the name of Dawn Austen booking number 35xxx.

When I was talking to her on the phone when she rings for a shuttle she begged me to pick her up straight away because she can’t stand for long.

Our shuttle picked her up at 7pm, I asked her if she is ok with our room upstairs but because she had problem going upstairs. I transfer her to our other motel where there is availability downstairs. Our rooms downstairs were all booked out for the night.

She agreed and she went to Travel Air. Travel is the same company but it not Airport Pacific Inn.

Sorry again for the inconvenience.

"For the price, the Inn is a good place to stay if you are on a budget. It was well positioned for our conference. It had everything we needed for a short stay. The airport transfers was excellent. The $40 per day rental car was very good. The room had a good shower and clean bathroom and the Inn had clean entrance and halls. We didn't use the bar/restaurant.

"We were pleased with the room and the value for money. The lack of organisation let them down as we had to wait to be shuttled to the airport as the van had not returned on time and also had to wait 45 mins to be picked up from the airport on our return! It was raining and cold in Auckland while we waited! When we finally got back to the hotel, our car was behind a heap of other cars in the waiting area and we had to shift some of them ourselves as there was no one available on the staff that could drive a manual car!! As soon as you go through security then call us straight away and we will pick you pick in 10 minutes. Sometimes guest call us from inside the airport before they go through security but we can't come to the airport and wait around as there is no place for us to wait for any length of time. "Room was clean but the TV was not tuned probably to the SKY channels. The manager on duty came in briefly to fix but left after tuning one channel and asked me to tune the TV to other channel I wanted to watch! Service was ok but the location is great and handy to airport. Very good internet wireless connection from my room which was free. Place also has a 'complimentary' rental car available to guest at costs of $35 per day plus petrol. "When we arrived we had to ring a bell and wait for someone to come to the reception desk. When given a room the cleaners were still inside so we had to wait until they had finished when other rooms were clearly ready. The room itself was basic but clean and tidy. In the morning we were given a complimentary lift to the airport which was on time and great. All in all for one night if you don't mind basic it was fine. "Cheap hotel with free airport transfers, and wireless internet in the rooms. Owners have bad english and were otherwise unhelpful. Rooms have a jug, coffee/tea/milk, but nothing to stir with. When I rang reception and asked for a spoon or anything to stir with, I was told the restaurant was closed for the night. Also when I asked for an extra blanket, i was told they were in the closet with the heater, but this wasn't the case, and bad English made any other communication non existant. I had to remove and use other covers from other beds in the room so as not to freeze at night. The van for transfers is very old, and was over crowded and uncomfortable during my transfer.
