Brook House B&B Response: Kia ora Stephen. The mattress actually has a hard side and a soft side previous customer had commented mattress was a bit "firm" so we turned it over. Personally I prefer it a bit firmer myself all my mattresses are identical and I sleep on 1 myself. Rooms are aired every day actually problem turned out to be drains and has been remedied.
