"Our stay at fantail lodge had mixed reviews, we were lucky to be given a upgrade to a villa, which was lovely and new. However I think if we had been given the estate room we had booked we might have been disappointed as they are getting a little dated. The swimming pool and spa were not up to working standard. The breakfast was of a high standard, and the service was friendly. Their description of the facilities on the website led us to expect a little more, hence our rating." Anonymous, 13 January 2011

Fantail Lodge Country Estate Response: Thank you for your review.

You stayed during January 2011 when we upgraded you from an Estate Room ($145.00per night) to a Garden Apartment ($420.00 per night) complimentary.

Our 'Estate Rooms' are an additional room (studio style) to our Villa's. They are brand new, construction only ending in October 31st 2010. You can still smell the fresh paint. We receive fantastic comments from many guests for our villas.

I believe you are confusing the 'Estate Room' with our 'Suites' which are connected to the main building and not promoted through any of our sites as they will be undergoing renovations shortly.

As the weather was not completely sunny, the pool is a unheated outdoor swimming pool only and both pool and existing spa is casualed for an upgrade in the new financial year. We do not promote our spa or pool on any site.

As we have been undergoing construction of our villas, we like to take on one project at a time and this way it is done properly with all the thought and attention put into our products and services.

Our restaurant quality and services are the highest standard in provincial New Zealand.

All our descriptions/ promotional activity is current at the time of publication and is updated as frequent as weekly.
