"OK for value relatively cheap, room and facilities could be upgraded, poor towels." Gerry Essenberg, 4 May 2012

"The studio was a little small, but very clean and tidy. It is centrally located with easy access to Lambton Quay. Very good value for money." Michael Wilkinson, 16 March 2012

"Comfortable beds. Room was confortable, good size & had everything we needed. Just took a while walking down the different hallways!" Anonymous, 8 February 2012

"Nice room, clean, comfortable. Good shower.

Never heard a peep from another room, so soundproofing is really good, BUT...

The weak point of soundproofing is doors and windows - could hear people walking up the corridor at all hours of day and night; didn't help being in room G01 - avoid it like the plague - next to the front door.

Also window wasn't double glazed, and I could hear outside noise, including trucks in the early hours of the morning.

If the room was a little quieter I'd be giving this place a 10/10 for combination of value, location and comfort." Pete, 23 November 2011

"Accommodation clean and satisfactory. However ventilation could have been better in the corridors as they were some quite strong odours. Staff friendly." Lucy, 23 November 2011

"States that it is a 4 star accommodation. I would disagree. Showers need an upgrade, didn't supply face clothes or tissues. There was no information to suggest eating establishments or takeaway/delivery menus of local restaurants. King size bed was two single beds pushed together. One of the beds was higher and firmer than the other." Anonymous, 9 November 2011

"Great accommodation - clean and quiet." Julie Tangaere, 7 November 2011

"Nice apartments, Hard to find/get to though from the street. Nice central location, however Reception closes at 5pm which is really early. Nice and clean." Anonymous, 6 October 2011

"I got an unbelievable deal at a time when prices elsewhere were at a premium. The apartment was great and within easy reach of everything. Cheers!!" Russell Ward, 6 October 2011

"We loved the location and the room was warm. The beds were great and the facilities were all we needed. Just one thing - there was no hot water in the bathroom. Cold shower not a good way to start the day." Rhonda Lott, 31 July 2011

"Friendly staff, swift service and a hassle-free stay overall. Room was excellent. I was amazed to see a washing machine and drying rack in the room. Very impressed." Libbie McIntosh, 9 March 2011

"DVD player in room did not work.
Very noisy due to construction vehicles in nearby street." Anonymous, 2 February 2011

"Staying at the Gilmer was great the only down side was there was no air conditioning and it was quite nosiy when the window was opened. But other than that our stay was great." John & Tracey Tuck, 4 January 2011

"Quiet and good central location." Anonymous, 6 October 2010

Gilmer Serviced Apartments Response: Thank you. We deeply appreciate your comments & look forward to have you back in Gilmer Serviced Apartments again.

"Smallish room but clean, tidy." Anonymous, 27 September 2010

"Great customer service. Everything provided within the room. Possible improvements could be - more comfortable bedding, provide space to lay suitcase upon. Other than that, great value for money!" Kelly Tauroa, 14 December 2009

"We were pleased to be upgraded to a deluxe studio, which turned out to be perfect for our 2 night stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. The position is almost perfect especially as we were able to use the City Life Hotel for access to and from Lambton Quay. All in all good accommodation at a good price." Carol Whiddett, 30 March 2009

"Clean and very well equipped, but as we stayed until Monday morning, it was very noisy as the construction workers started and the traffic intensified. A great weekend place though and really well located." Anonymous, 19 March 2009

"Staff were very helpful and friendly, always smiling. Rooms were ideal." Anita Kitto, 13 March 2009

"I really enjoyed staying there as the staff was good and I like it because the room had a cooking stove and a washing machine and it was nice and quiet for a place in the city." Wi Boynton, 23 February 2009

"Quite noisy with trucks next door all night and early morning." Kris McGehan, 3 November 2008

"The front desk staff are really very nice and helpful... I didn't bring a towel for the gym after I'd checked out and they were more than happy to lend me one. The location is a bit annoying outside of work hours (during work hours you can cut through to Lambton Quay through Whitcoulls) and also the washing powder that they supply for the machines kind of just solidified into a brick and didn't really work.

However, it is a quiet location and I got a great nights sleep." Anonymous, 22 October 2008

"Room OK but had no view as it overlooked an office block. Room therefore quite dark. Offer included free continental breakfast, but they forgot on second morning and had to negotiate with reception on checkout!! OK for short stay and very central so good to get to Lambton Quay quickly." Andrew Britton, 5 October 2008

"Awsome location - very short walking distance to Lambton Quay - and only a bit further to all the Courtney Place Bars. Friendly staff, well presented and maintained room. We loved our time there!" Anonymous, 10 July 2008

"A lot clearer description of the rooms need to be stated. I have never been so embarrassed in my life to be given a room with a double bed when I was under the impression that there was going to be two single beds. Never mind, the staff did provide a 'rollaway' but I had to fathom out myself how to unpack it and make it up." Peter Hallagan, 9 July 2008

Gilmer Serviced Apartments Response: Our Studio Double Apartment is our standard studio apartment with a double bed inside. Our Studio Deluxe has a king bed that can be split into twin beds. This is clearly explained on the Ezibed website. Mr. Hallagan booked a Studio Double Apartment. We were not able to upgrade the room as it was the night of the All Blacks game and we were fully booked for the night. A rollaway bed was provided to Mr Hallagan at no additional charge. We apologize for any trouble Mr Hallagan may have had understanding our room discriptions on the website. It is a responsibility we take very seriously to be clear and correct in anything we say to our guests.

"Very efficient & nice staff - excellent. Very good location. A bit cramped. Poor views (rubbish skips in car park). Didn't like air freshners in hallway (we guess for cooking smells), but too over powering. Liked the fresh fruit in foyer." Anonymous, 9 July 2008

"A clean apartment complex and very central. The room was nice and warm when we arrived as well which was fantastic." Anonymous, 24 June 2008
