"This facility was bordering on third world and I was disgusted. I have never stayed anywhere worse anywhere in the world. The room stank. There was mould on the toilet floor, the decor was 1970's, cigarette burns on the carpet, cracked formica in the shower, peeling paint everywhere, two power points did not work, the TV channels were crap and terrible reception, The kettle had to be changed as it did not work and to cap it off I paid $20 a night more than I paid for a two year old clean neat facility at Shotover Lodge near Queenstown. "Beds were comfortable and clean but when you entred the bathroom in room 203 it smelt of musty and had mould thick up under sink and under bench, explosed board on walls not painted and lots of paint bubbles some large flaking off the walls. I would not have put anyone in this room in that state and was very dispointed - said something the next morning (too tired the night of arrival to deal with it) but was not really appreciated - all they wanted was the rest of my money." "A request to upgade to a lake view room was handled well as I was able to view the standard room allocated and a room with a view. A discount was offered for dining at the hotel restaurant. Both evening and breakfast meals were good." Anonymous, 17 August 2009
"Very poor standard of room. I appreciate that this is nothing that ezibed has any 'say' in but the quality of the room was a major let down. In partcular, a total lack of ANY in room information, poor standard of cleanliness and obvious complete lack of any room maintenance (chipped and missing paint, poor 'gib' repairs etc)."
