"I was so excited to receive an upgrade to the apartment. I love this hotel - after a big flight, it was perfect and my son slept 14 hours!! I will come here every year!" Mary Murphy, 12 August 2011
"Great hotel..different from the ordinary hotel chain type. Friendly helpful staff. Brilliant artwork. Pleasure to be in. Highly reccomended." Shane Morgan, 26 May 2011
"I was most impressed with the service, the location and also to be upgraded to an apartment was most welcome. I will stay again when in Wellington." DAVID WRIGHT, 18 March 2011
"This is a well-located hotel near all the interesting stuff in Wellington. However, the entrance foyer is strange, as it is really a bar area and was very noisy on arrival - the staff couldn't hear and neither could we. Car parking is at a premium and costs $20 per day, if you can get a carpark. Our room was small, so not so good for eating room service breakfast, but very nice. A well-appointed bathroom was a feature, but a few small details needed cleaning or a touchup with paint. The restaurant was pricey, but the food was extremely good as was the service. I recommend this if you have some spare money to splash out on dinner." Stuart McAdam, 20 August 2010
"Had a good time staying there." Jocelyn Baldwin, 12 April 2010
"Starting to date and look tired." Anonymous, 20 January 2010
"I usually enjoy staying at this hotel but I found attention to detail for this stay lacking, eg the Disability park was taken by non disability parker (with surfboard on roof), so parking on the road, than being given a disability room furthest away from check in (however thoughtful in terms of the room) made walking to and from difficult and painful. It's a situation that abled people might not consider but a disability strategy can take this into account." Dorothee Pinfold, 18 January 2010
"Not as spectacular as I have heard, however very interesting decor, did enjoy the pool and spa, excellent gym area, twin share room,no place to sit down for four people to eat at a table.Disappointed at the lack of help to show as the way to our room, only to state to "walk all the way to the end of hall where lifts are" when we have never been there before also to fumble in the dark of the room to try and put room card in its slot to activate the lights, lucky we were alert enough on what to do.Also need pricing for the mini bar in their booklet." Philip Nelson, 5 January 2010
"Air conditioning effective but noisy - too stuffy in room if air conditioning OFF. Otherwise very happy with stay and room facilities." Stuart Veitch, 14 December 2009
"Great hotel spoilt only by rowdy guests and late night running along the corridor. Also had dinner in the Hippopotamus Restaurant which was first class - third floor looking over the harbour." W David Nicolson, 3 December 2009
"Wonderful hote l- but stay was spoilt by room service breakfast. Cold plate, cold food, warmed bread instead of toast, no butter, no salt, and after one more try I got a reasonably warm cooked breakfast plus all the missing bits. To their credit, they didn't charge me though." Richard Amery, 1 November 2009
"Quiet room, very clean, and pleasant decor. I was very pleased to be able to utilise the room and facilities from 11am when I arrived from Nelson rather than wait till 3pm. Also, I was able to leave my luggage on check out day while I did other things prior to leaving for the airport. The pool and spa were very refreshing, in particular, because there was access to fresh air on the pool deck. I was unable to open the windows in my room and found the interior of the hotel quite airless as well. The restaurant was beyond my budget, which was a shame, I would otherwise have eaten in the hotel. I found plenty of eateries nearby both for dinner and breakfast. It would be an asset if they had a breakfast cafe which was more reasonably priced. Otherwise, a pleasant stay and close to the things I wanted to see and do." Lorna Burns, 28 October 2009
"We were upgraded to a room in their apartment section. The room was pure luxury." Darlene Kilpatrick, 8 September 2009
"When we first checked in we had to request another room, as we had been upgraded (as per our booking) but not to a room with the deluxe bath as advertised. The bathroom was heavenly and the bath was the best I've ever had. Unfortunately our room had 2 queen beds which were quite small and the ambience was totally ruined by the fact that you can hear absolutely everything that happens in the hallway i.e everytime someone enters/exists their room. Other than that our stay was nice and the hotel was well furnished." Jenner Lee, 22 July 2009
"Great bath for two!!" Anonymous, 16 July 2009
"Couldn't fault the service it was 100%. Very nice people work there. Only negative observaton was the shower which was over the bath and could be difficult for some people to get in & out of. My husband & I were intrigued with the history of the Hotel - specially the train track movement." Anonymous, 12 July 2009
"Very handy location, beautiful free REAL coffee, rooms very quiet and nice dark curtains, although quite small, would definitely stay again!" Mark Kennedy, 6 June 2009
"This would be one of the best hotels we have stayed in & so central to all the places we wanted to go." Trevor Pearce, 25 March 2009
"The room was very hot with no air conditioning. A fan was provided but this was noisy." Sarah Holden, 11 March 2009
"I loved having the NZ art to look at throughout the hotel." Fiona Gunter-Firth, 20 January 2009
"Centrally located, clean, friendly." Anonymous, 10 November 2008
"Museum Hotel is well situated across the road from Te Papa and is handy to theatres, cafes, restaurants and shopping areas. Our room was very clean and well appointed. Staff were helpful and overall we rate our stay as high. Would definitely stay again." Anonymous, 23 October 2008
"Free upgrade to a one room suite was most appreciated. View from this room is excellent." Mike Breese, 13 July 2008
"Quite a nice place to stay, had a mix up with our booking which was resolved quickly and easily. Staff were very helpful and arranged an earlier check in for us to make life easier." Tash Lawrence, 4 July 2008
"The room was great and the food was lovely but the people at reception need more training in customer service. My partner and I work in the tourist industry and I was not impressed at the level of communication with the reception staff. No greeting, no real offer of any help. Very poor." Frances Reid, 23 June 2008
"Nicely appointed hotel in prime central position in Wellington; close proximity to everything. A few niggles during our stay - numerous entry points in the lobby area and staff seemed to view us suspiciously as general public using the facilities each time we returned to the hotel. Mini bar in room not complete on arrival and therefore had to plead our innocence at check-out time. Tea/coffee not replenished in our room (had to ask for it) or regularly in the complimentary area of the lobby. Over-charged when checked in due to the on-line booking system. Annoying little instances but would not put us off staying again." Anonymous, 12 June 2008
"Air conditioning was noisy." Anonymous, 3 June 2008
"Average shower, would have liked my windows with a harbour view to be clean!!" Anonymous, 22 May 2008
"The public areas of this hotel are 1st rate. The room I had is OK, except the shower which needs an upgrade. The newspaper ordered did not arrive." George Beaton, 18 April 2008
"Excellent facilities. Good location. Friendly staff." Anonymous, 17 April 2008
