"Definitely value for money, but no matter what the price, things should be clean. I washed the dishes we were going to be using before we used them. I got a wine glass from the cupboard & it still had water in it and was very greasy. The welcome was not what I am used to at any accommodation I have stayed in previously. Husband & wife team - the husband didn't even say hello. I rate them 5 as the room was value for money. We left at 7.45 to attend a funeral & am not sure if we received our complimentary breakfast so I cannot comment on that. Flies in the room also, which was shut up. "The room was basic but clean and tidy. The service was ok, staff friendly enough. The spa pool bubbles didn't work, and our breakfast cereal was a year past it's best before date. Also they don't have any paperwork to sign at check in or at check out." Anonymous, 10 September 2008

Northgate Motor Lodge Motel Response: Thank you for your comments. We are now in the process of a refit of our bathrooms and will also be looking at kitchens in the near future. All our units now have Aircon/heat pumps.

"Thank you for our stay – the unit was clean and the hosts were welcoming. However, we felt the motel was perhaps less well–equipped than the name Motor Inn would suggest (more like an average motel).
The shower/toilet light bulb was not working, and the toilet in with the shower was not ideal. There was nowhere to put soap while in the shower. The grounds were well set out and the location very convenient. Thank you for a comfortable stay." Anonymous, 5 May 2008

Northgate Motor Lodge Motel Response: Hi. Thank you for that. We have now relined all our showers and put new shower heads and mixers in all units and are in the process of putting shower caddies in all showers. All units are fully equipped with kitchens, heatpump/air con systems, wireless internet and 37" TV's with sky. This is the first time we have had a client say they are not well equipped but again thank you for your feed back as it is all welcome.
