"Was a great hotel. Pros: central location near Te Papa, train station and parliament, Staff were very friendly and helpful, room was very clean, bed was beautiful and bathroom was roomy. Cons: Couldn't find the A/C remote and after asking the front desk, I was still not given one. Great view of the offices next door and not much else (if you don't ask for a harbour view)." Nathan, 18 April 2012

"When we arrived the guy on the counter was very friendly and made our check in easy and quick. The room was beautifully presented and the beds extremely comfortable. Our grandaughters really enjoyed swimming in the pool." Jayne Sparr, 6 July 2011

"Was disapointed - hotel nice and staff very friendly and helpful but there were some issues. Arrived at 3pm and room not ready, didnt take long however but should have been ready given 2pm is check in time. Buffet breakfast very average for $26. Beds too soft although rooms very nice." Anonymous, 6 October 2010

"Great , tidy , clean Service is outstanding , no problems." Scott Jones, 27 July 2010

"Lovely room, very central location. Breakfast buffet included in our rate was great value." Chad and Traceylee Hooton, 7 April 2010

"Good front desk, room clean and fresh, parking useful, food average." Anonymous, 2 March 2010

"Excellent customer service. Staff were really helpful." Sarsha Tyrrell, 8 December 2009

"While all the facilities were clean, tidy and staff accomodating the weekend that we stayed was a busy one for the city of Wellington and accomodation was at a premium. The hotel did not seem prepared for this event, service was stretched and communication between staff members failed." Anonymous, 30 September 2009

"The room was very nice, comfortable and pleasant, however small. We were 3 people, had 2 queen size beds. Dishes/cutlery were for 2 people, cooking utensils are not in the room (you have to ask for them), one of us could sit down for the breakfast, the two others had to stand, as there is only one chair at a desk. The windows cannot be opened, it was hot (summer), the aircon working 24 hours a day, but still pretty warm. If you like it rather warm and do not want a breakfast in your room, or even cook, then this is a nice place to stay." Anonymous, 29 January 2009

"Very nice hotel. I made a mistake and booked in for a day later than I should have. This was able to be changed when I arrived." Kane Matthews, 24 January 2009

"Excellent hotel, staff etc very helpful, well recommended." Kim Grant, 6 January 2009

"Bit far from town centre." Ian Davies, 15 October 2008

"I have to say the hotel looks absolutely stunning - much better than the image Holiday Inn used to have. However some things are more important than looks - such as the bed we stayed in which was very uncomfortable. Breakfast was average and the staff at breakfast service were quite average also. No coffee, no booking for us even though we told the checkin staff we would be down for the buffet. After such a shocking nights sleep the breakfast was a further letdown. Sorry." Michael Hall, 14 October 2008

"Fantastic location, beautiful room, excellent facilities. Very comfortable bed - didn't even need to order from the impressive 'pillow menu'! Good service too - we were able to check-in early and check out a little late with absolutely no fuss. We enjoyed the spa and lap pool on the second floor, although it was a bit odd having to walk through the foyer of the conference area to get to the pool! The food from the Plate restaurant was quite expensive and a little disappointing, but the hotel is only five minutes walk from lots of other great places to eat. Overall very impressed and would definitely stay again." Wendy, 22 May 2008

"Generally very good. Staff excellent." Anonymous, 21 May 2008

"Great facilities, very comfortable stay." Anonymous, 14 May 2008

"Gym was so small. More than 1 person made it feel uncomfortable." Ivan, 18 April 2008
