"The room was fine, however it was so stuffy and hot. Requested a fan if available, but was told there were lots of guests wanting fans? We booked a car park, only to find that we had been double booked into the same park, then told to go park in another spot, which I was not happy about because I had just driven 7 hours to Auckland. We were then given another park only to go out and have someone else park in it. Then in the end we had to switch again to the 3rd level. I did not like this because the car park lights were not working properly which resulted in us waiting for ages to get out of the car park, in the end we just drove up, there could have been accidents in that car park.

There was sarcasm received from the elderly blonde receptionists when requesting directions to the Gym, I was told by the Night clerk that the gym was available from 6am onwards and available for guests to use, when I asked for directions (I was wearing a dress), the receptionists said to me "you can't go in there looking like that", I told her that I asked for directions to the gym so direct me! When I entered the gym to view, it was cluttered with washing machines etc...

Finally when we were checking out, only one lift was going. When the lift arrived on our floor, the maintenance man was occupying the lift with washing machines? Could this not have been done after guests had checked out. It held up us plus other guests that we were waiting for the lifts, it was very difficult to get in the lift when it stopped on our floor because everyone else was in it. Eventually after approximately 20 minutes or so, we finally were able to get to the ground floor.

"Excellent rooms with great views. Large and very quiet, with all the facilities you need for a relaxing stay. The service was great and staff very friendly. We will definitely stay there again.
Finding Martin's Lane could be a mission. The signpost is hard to see and doesn't look like a public road. Also its a busy section so make sure your navigator is onto it. Make sure to let Waldorf's know if you need parking. If you miss out, Wilson's on City Road is the cheapest and closest parking area (about 2 minutes in the car). Go onto Symonds Street, turn right then very first left onto City Road. Keep going past Liverpool Street, down the steep section and it's right there. 5 minute walk back to Waldorfs, that is if you can stay out of the fine restaurants along the way. Waldorf's is handy to all central Auckland and if you are into the exercise, the University has a good gym that is a 5 minute drive down Symonds Street." Anonymous, 23 July 2009
